This is a fun event–to address a very serious problem.

Just last weekend, we had a tragic reminder of LIPSTICK’s importance. A young woman was killed with a gun that never should have been on the streets.

LIPSTICK provides a ray of hope. We can break cycles of violence by asking “Where did the gun come from?” and warning friends and neighbors not to provide guns to people who can’t get them legally.

Thank you Chicken of the Sea, and all of our funders and supporters, for making LIPSTICK possible.

2. LIPSTICK held another great Beauty Day event!

LIPSTICK Ladies once again brought their message of empowerment, sisterhood, strength, and inner and outer beauty to Princey’s Hair Salon earlier this month.

Almost 300 women and girls (and a few of our “Chapstick” men and boys) came through the doors. There were makeovers, massages, beauty coupons, awards, and lots of practical information about how to stop the violence.

Thank you to everyone–LIPSTICK Ladies, Princey and her staff, our hot dog chef, awardees and guests–who made the day a huge success. And a special thank you to Thaddeus Miles and MassHousing for funding our Beauty Days!
